Shine Design Interiors got its start in 2007 when Sunshine Brooks decided to take her passion for creating effortlessly comfortable, eclectic, and beautiful spaces to the next level. Over the years, Shine Design has grown from a one-woman venture to a three-person design team with a brick-and-mortar storefront. The Shine Design team is committed to working closely with their clients to create beautiful spaces. Their designs are a reflection of their personal tastes and revolve around the family’s lifestyle. They believe a well-designed home is more than how it looks; It’s how it makes you feel.
Born and raised in Indianapolis, Sunshine Brooks, the founder of Shine Design, discovered her affinity for design at a young age. After a stint in social work after college and a few years later raising her two children, she began working at a popular home design store, responsible for styling the shop’s various design layouts. Later, after designing some friends’ homes on the side, she decided to venture out and establish her own interior design company, what would soon become Shine Design.
Years and dozens of happy clients later, Sunshine, with the help of her partners Jen and Emily, opened Shine Design Home, the brick-and-mortar realization of Shine Design—a place where she could curate a collection of beautiful decor pieces and furniture that customers could use to add warmth and style to their homes. With stances in both the traditional and modern design spheres, Sunshine relies on her impeccable eye for timeless design and her relentless passion for life’s beauty to imbue homes with personality and lasting style.
Three years after Shine Design’s inception, Sunshine invited Jennifer onboard to help further her vision and deliver beautiful spaces to a growing list of clients. With a background in customer service and sales, along with an innate sense of style and a knack for organization derived from running a six-person household, Sunshine knew Jennifer would be a perfect fit. Because of her background, Jennifer excels in designing intricate layouts and coming up with creative solutions to complex design problems.
Emily showed a passioin for interior design at an early age, redecorating her childhood bedroom at least a dozen times. In 2010 she brought her knack for design online, creating a design blog that reached hundreds of readers and the attention of several prominent publications. Her home has since been featured in The New York Times best seller Loveable, Livable Home, IKEA Family Magazine, and several notable home design blogs. When she’s not sharing her love of a traditional-meets-West-Coast style, she’s chasing around her 3-year-old daughter who also wants to be an “innerior esigner” when she grows up. Emily joined the Shine Design Interiors team in 2015.
